Service Description

This "fun to learn" painting program will be a step-by-step skill-building series for adults of all levels and abilities ages 65 and over, whether or not you've ever tried an art class before! Beginning with color theory, composition, and light, participants will gain confidence that will lead to joyfully exploring creative expression. The 8-week session, hosted at Pines Village's Meridian Woods community room, includes all supplies, and includes "show and share" time in each class, expert instructor guidance and feedback, and various accommodations are available for all ability levels. FREE transportation can be arranged for students who need it, courtesy of Porter County Aging and Community Services (PCACS). If you indicate a need on your registration form, you will be contacted to complete intake information for PCACS one-way or round-trip bus service. This program is presented in partnership with Pines Village Retirement Community. Funding for this program is provided by the State of Indiana and in part by an award from the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) in partnership with the E.A. Michelson Philanthropy.
