Service Description

This "fun to learn" drawing and painting program will be a step-by-step skill-building series for adults of all levels and abilities ages 65 and over. Beginning with drawing the four shapes that are the foundation of all drawing and painting, participants will gain confidence that will lead to joyfulling exploring creative expression. The 8-week session, hosted at the Portage Library's community room, includes all supplies, and includes "show and share" time in each class, expert instructor guidance and feedback, and various accommodations are available for all ability levels. FREE transportation can be arranged for students who need it, courtesy of Porter County Aging and Community Services (PCACS). If you indicate a need on your registration form, you will be contacted to complete intake information for PCACS one-way or round-trip bus service. This program is presented in partnership with Porter County Public Library System. Funding for this program is provided by the State of Indiana and in part by an award from the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) in partnership with the E.A. Michelson Philanthropy.
